The significance of the number 23.

Well I am back, and its been a close call I am telling you. I felt really sick. I was carted off to the V.E.T. where I had large numbers of needles stuck in me, for no apparent reason. Then I found out what had really been going on. I was lying there when I overheard my human talking to the V.E.T. They were talking about the number ‘23′. The V.E.T. was saying

‘it was 23! We have never known a cat with a result that high before!’

And my human was saying

‘23? Good God!’

I dont know if anyone out there knows what they are talking about but its clearly some sort of code.

Then my human was saying

‘ its not going to be easy feeding him seperately’

and the V.E.T said

‘ its really important’

and my human said ( are you ready for this? )

‘I know…….if I dont he will die!’

Now I have been thinking about this…………23 must be the name of a type of poison. That explains why I am being fed seperately, Sinner has been poisoning me again! I have been complaining about this for years, and no one takes a blind bit of notice!

This was confirmed today! I saw some food down there and my human said

‘ you can’t eat that it will make you ill! ‘

What more proof do you need!

Fortunately my human has realised at long last what is going on, and now she watches every mouthful I eat! She won’t allow the other two in the same room when I eat, they have to be fed seperately. Positive proof is that I am now feeling much better”

My life hangs by a thread, you have no idea what it is like having to live in these perilous surroundings!

I have to go back to the V.E.T next week, she says, to have more tests………checking to see if there is any more poison I expect! Its most unnerving!

Doesnt anyone out there care?

Poor Boris, hes has had a rough time recently….he had to go back into hospital as he took another bad turn. Now at least we have discovered that its his pancreas playing up again.

I am hoping he will be home tomorrow. Hes been getting lots of fuss made of him at the vets, they have all got rather fond of him. Hes lapping it up!

Lives rating 4 out of 9!

Boris is home!

He looks like a patchwork quilt. Lots of fur has been shaved off for him to have a scan and his drip put up. I am going to start charging the V.E.T for the amount of fur they are taking off my cat!  Still its better than taking the skin off him while still alive as they do in China!

The bill came to  1700 pounds. I have told him he is not worth it. Hes sitting next to me now and reading this post.

I have informed Boris he is the beneficiary of modern western veternary medicine…….I am not sure he appreciates it……..His lives rating is about 6 right now.

Boris is in hospital!

His current lives rating is about 4 out of 9 ( see Boris’s veterinary history)!!
He has lost a lot of weight recently, and become very dehydrated, and had some ketones in his urine. His kidneys etc are still working fine, although he has been vomiting, so his pancreatitis may be rumbling. He went into the V.E.T.s and came out but started to get dehydrated again so had to go back in. We dont think its anything too serious but his V.E.T has deserted him by buzzing off to Cornwall on holiday. Why she didnt cancel it I dont know. However, she did email me from Vancouver last time she was on holiday and I was worried about his insulin, so I suppose that will have to do. I am anticipating he will be discharged Monday, having cost Petplan hundreds of pounds. I am convinced one day his little body will be found hanging from Battersea Bridge with bricks on all paws and a suicide note attached, saying he didnt want to cost Petplan anymore money……..I distinctly saw some men in Balaclavas hanging around when I bought him home the other day. He is not in a very good mood, and will doubtless take it out on all and sundry when he gets back. No further bulletins will be posted unless there is a sudden change in his condition. He is ‘as well as can be expected’ Such fortitude is an example to us all! I am taking him  some grapes.

Why has the world changed?

My human has moved house, quite where she moved it to I just dont know, but when we went outside the world outside had changed completely! We have been ‘establishing ourselves’ ie duffing up the cats in the neighbourhood. There is one female cat in particular who seems about six foot tall and totally aggressive,  all three of us find her hard to handle. She is what my human calls ‘a very pretty cat’ with a pink bell. Our human calls us ‘ a load of girls blouses’ and tells us to ‘pull ourselves together’ and throws us out again when we try to get away from her!  She reckons this cat needs an ASBO. I am naturally exempt from War Work because I must not get an adrenaline rush. So TWC and Sinner get chucked out instead.

(A quick not from my Human……………. In the Second World War cats were designated War Workers to qualify for a ration, although sick and old cats were officially exempted! There we were fighting the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain and what do the people at the top concern themselves with? Designating cats as War workers…it could only happen in Britain. End of humans interjection)

Meanwhile she has threatened her new neighbours with ‘litigation’ because they keep coming on her land and moving things about  (everyone says they are a bit potty) I am not quite sure what ‘litigation’ is but it sound very long winded, why not just duff them up?

My human got it into her head I was ‘fading away’ so lugged me off to the V.E.T. They stuck needles in all over the place and then said all my blood test were just fine, but I had lost weight and had a few ‘ketones in my urine’ They said it was a ‘mystery what was wrong with me’. And she paid £180 for that??

I am reliably informed I am now a living legend.

My name is mentioned regularly by  everyone in the know and my human has to answer a string of question every day about my wellbeing.

I would employ her but I dont think shes worth the wages.

Our Downing Street Petition is now closed

Filed under: Uncategorized — madpam @ 10:40 pm

Well done everyone, we got 1051 signatures which is excellent for a single person petition. In terms of ranking it came 95th out of 4668  in terms of size.

As we got more than 200 signatures they have to draft a reply. Now this won’t set the world on fire, but its part of making ourselves a nuisance, and keeping the pressure up.

Watch this space, we will be putting up further links to help the animals in China and elsewhere

Boris and his long suffering human!
